I have long, straight hair and I *usually* use longer metal bobby pins (or just ballpoint pens) to tie my hair in a messy bun. I tried them for a change. Unfortunately they are too short, the plastic too sleek and the ends too pointy to hold the hair for more than a few minutes. Since they are short and my hair is thick, they never feel safe in my hair. And to make matters worse, their smooth plastic shape and the fact that they're tapered means they just slip out of my hair when I move my head. I missed the return window so I now use them as extra pins to tuck in the ends after my bun is already secured with a ballpoint pen.
