I used it to connect to my laptop so I can type on the keyboard but turn off the light in my room. The lamp itself worked very well for this. Especially when there are two of them. HOWEVER - The cable right at the end of the USB connector WEAR. The cord's rubber insulation at the very end of the outlet has snapped and now the wires inside are bare. The wires still have their own insulation but I will no longer be using this product as I am also concerned that this insulation will break down. I had this product for about a month before noticing this problem. I do NOT recommend this product. .
