Let's face it, the remotes and controllers that come with the Shield TV (at least on older versions) just don't hold up. After going through THREE controllers that my kids kept dropping and breaking (it's expensive!), I was finally ready for something new. This little remote is a godsend and works surprisingly well. It was just plug and play and ready to use as soon as the USB receiver was connected. All buttons work, voice control works and the battery lasted two months. The air gesture feature works well too, but to be honest we never use it. Arrow key navigation is simplified, especially for kids. My Shield TV is in an elevated cabinet and I noticed signal reception issues when the USB receiver was plugged into the back of the Shield so I bought a small 6 inch USB extension cable that moved the remote receiver to the front and now the remote works great throughout the living room. My only complaint is that the battery door is very tight and I thought I would break it when removing it. I hope I don't have to change the batteries often. :-) If you have a Shield TV (or any other device that requires a remote control), be sure to check it out!
