I set up a second desktop in my home office. It's not something I intend to use very often, but I wanted to outfit it with a decent wired keyboard and mouse. I cleaned up and gave away most of my peripherals so I ended up in the odd position of being a mouse that lacked what I needed. What to do? Since I didn't need anything too feature rich or flashy, I figured that a TECKNET 6-button USB wired mouse with side buttons would suffice. The one-day availability of Prime impacted me in many ways. The mouse arrived on time and as advertised. TECKNET identifies a regular HID mouse and works well on Windows and Linux (I have both types of machines on KVM). The body of the mouse is quite comfortable (for a right-handed person), and the good thing is that the thumb hole is rubberized (which I like). The cable is sheathed in plain PVC so you'll have to look elsewhere for braided sheathing. The performance of the mouse is ok and the resolution switcher is useful. Overall, this is a nicer mouse than I thought you could get at this price point (and there's a coupon!). Something about this mouse caught my attention although I couldn't say exactly what it was. The mouse looked and felt good, but something was wrong. When I returned to my other table, I immediately noticed what it was. The mouse is basically 80% the size of a "regular" mouse. It's not as annoying as using one of those 60% size laptop mice, but it's something to keep in mind. I have an average (or slightly smaller than average) hand size and I've had no problems with it. If you have large hands, this mouse may not be for you. Conditionally recommended The mouse is basically 80% the size of a "regular" mouse.
