I have very hot leather seats that are difficult to cool. I found the recommendation for this product mostly for cooling gel and not for comfort. A nice bonus is the comfortable grip. I take it to the office to keep it cool and then I sit down and drive home nice and cool (45 minutes). I lowered my seat as he picks you up. Easy to fix. It's memory foam, so the chill keeps you warm, but I no longer burn my lower back and there's no sweaty back - body temperature stays. I could buy a mat with just cooling gel but I was afraid it would roll off and not stay in place. It stays in place with anti-slip dots, molded shape and light weight. I'm not sure what I would get just for the sake of convenience. It's soft in summer and stiffer in cooler weather like most memory foams.
