I recently lost my AirPods while traveling and was looking for a replacement. I didn't want to pay what they wanted for AirPods, and I wasn't very impressed with the sound quality of the AirPods, so I went in search of wireless headphones under $130 that had the best sound I could find. I chose the CX and got it today. I'll get to the sound quality at the end, but first let me address a few other aspects. Set up was extremely easy, there are clear instructions, I just pulled them out of the box, removed the very obvious and labeled plastic covers on the battery contacts, then charged the headphones for about an hour. Once charged, they connected to my iPhone with no issues. I also downloaded the app which worked without any problems. The fit is a little less comfortable than the AirPods, but they're not uncomfortable and feel reasonably secure. These headphones lack ANC, but I don't think that will be a problem as they block outside noise very effectively. The touch controls are intuitive and work smoothly. So far I've used them both together and individually, taking them in and out of a case and I've had no connection issues. You will need to reconnect to the app if you disconnect bluetooth, but the app should work so that the headphones only worked when you wanted to leave the equalizer running, reconnecting to the app is also very easy. The only "problem" I had was when I updated the firmware; everything went well, however, be prepared that your phone and headphones will be bound for about 40 minutes while the firmware is updated; During this process, the application must remain open and the headset must be close to the phone. It's a little annoying because I was afraid that if the update was interrupted for some reason it might ruin the headphones, although everything supposedly went fine it just took a long time (the app gives a pretty accurate countdown, so something helps). So how do they sound? Without a doubt, this is the best headphone that I have personally listened to in my life. I've had AirPods, Jabra 65t, first-gen Beats, and a few different Chinese pairs; none of them are even in the same category. Here are my first headphones that don't sound like music, they just pump into my ear canals; The music sounds like it comes from the area. Every instrument and vocal track is crisp and clear. The bass and treble sound great and balanced and if you like really punchy bass you can turn it up in the EQ and it will sound muffled. I really can't stress enough how amazing the sound is, I've listened to several songs that are now available in lossless Dolby Atmos on Apple Music and it's just amazing. The best metaphor I can think of is that all my old headphones were standard definition and these are 4K. So if you're looking for the best sound for your buck, and possibly the best sound for less than $200, this is it.
