Review on 🍽️ Stainless Tableline Double Walled Isosteel VA 9346K by Michael Nard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Plastic lid in cutlery and serving cutlery

carafe not bad, but not outstanding either. It works decently (not great) but the product doesn't really match the description in the listing - it basically claims to be all steel. First, good. The basic design looks great. The vacuum at the base insulates quite well - there is no heat transfer to the outer wall of the base. Note that I specifically mention "base" here every time. Now for the bad. The entire top - handle, spout, cap, lever - is plastic, not steel, and non-insulating. This is a problem because the cap feels very warm. In other words, the top is the heatsink. As the heat rises, the excellent vacuum walls on the metal base don't matter much when all the heat is coming from above. If the cap were also vacuum insulated with steel walls like the base, it would go from a mediocre carafe to an awesome carafe. I've never used the similar looking Emsa elegancea so can't compare them. How problematic is the plastic plate? Immediately after unpacking I gave him boiling water to drink and closed it to check. For about 30 seconds, the upper felt very warm (not scalding, just "hot"). After 90 minutes I opened it and poured a glass of water. It was still hot but a comfortable temperature for drinking. After another 12 hours it was just above room temperature. So it keeps you warm for a while (and looks good) so I'm happy to give it 3 stars. But don't expect water or coffee to stay hot for more than a couple of hours.
