This pump is very similar to other water pumps available, but this one stands out for two main reasons: more power (1/6 HP compared to 1/10 HP) and the fact that it is self-priming. The general build quality seems solid. It's fairly small and light, so it's best to mount it to something for more stability. A mounting bracket is attached to the base so it's easy to install (I used 2x6 sections). must be removed to service impeller). The impeller is made of a dense, rubber-like material, which is a plus as there is less chance of a fin breaking. However, this is only intended for clean water without sediment. The instructions also state that it should NOT be used for pool water, which I believe comes with the risk of the chlorine corroding the inside of the pump. It comes with a short hose with 3/4 fittings on each end. The threads on the pump are designed to work with garden hose threads. It also comes with a triangular suction adapter. The processing quality of the adapter is good, but it doesn't bother me that it doesn't have a hose screw connection, but a rubber screw connection that is plugged into the internal thread of the hose supplied. It works, but it's awkward to attach and detach. As with other transfer pumps like this one, there is no on/off switch. It turns on when connected to the network and turns off when disconnected from the network. I connected it to an extension cord so I don't have to unplug it. If you want to use this unattended you'll need to hook up some sort of float switch as it doesn't need to run dry (and doesn't need to run all the time, e.g. for a pond). The self-priming works really well - it would fill up and start pumping within seconds of turning it on every time. Performance specs are 330 GPH and 40 feet of travel. The capacity specification appears to be fairly accurate. I calculated how long it took to pump out a 10 gallon container with a 5 foot lift and extrapolated that, I got 360 gallons per hour. I can't be sure the 40ft lift is accurate, but given the flow rate with the 5ft lift I believe it's fairly accurate (although I expect the flow rate to be well under 330 with that much lift gph lies). ).Working noise is quite loud and whining, which is typical for small engines. With prolonged use (1 hour) it got warm but not hot. All in all, this is an excellent transfer pump for moving large volumes of clean water from one location to another. It meets specifications, is self-priming and comes with useful spares.
