Review on GVS SPR643 Elastomeric Professionals Replaceable by Fred Novak

- Made in Mexico - All face contact parts are made of soft thermoplastic elastomer - 2 straps, fully adjustable - Weight 4.729 G. I have a pretty weird face and the masks don't suit me. For example, my cpap mask is a child environment. My eyes and nose are close together, so it's difficult for something that goes over the bridge of my nose to not touch my eyes. The mask is ideal for this. I didn't feel any undue pressure on my eyeballs. I can wear glasses. The ear pieces fit well but of course the nose piece sits on top of the mask. Slight distortion of it, but I guess that's to be expected. There is no fog at all. There was no impairment of my vision at all. I have a heart rate monitor, I lose 2-3 oxygen points when wearing a mask. Losing air is never pleasant, but it is a very good indicator. I have COPD and have trouble breathing and I wear this with no problem. It doesn't have an oxygen port, but you can easily get one if you have oxygen. Expiry date 5/2026. That's fine too, but vacuum-seal it in mylar until you need it and you'll get significantly longer shelf life. They don't seem to have replacement filters for Amz yet, but replacements for similar masks are around $19. That's about the same as other brands. GVS is an Italian brand that operates in most EU countries. Hopefully they'll get a replacement from Amz soon. I don't understand the center circle. There's just a plastic cap in there. I think it would be the exhalation valve if it was in this model. I'm just confused as to why they left it there. I suspect their other models have a valve and it was cheaper to use that base. Incidentally, this is where most of the moisture accumulates during use. I like it. I took a few pictures showing the filter change setting. That tiny white thing, I thought, means you picked the lock to replace it. It was'nt easy. Turns out there's a big white base inside the mask that's pretty easy to twist to unlock, even with long nails. I might wish it was in the attached info but maybe it will be in a refill pack. Overall I find it quite comfortable to wear and can't take the heavy weight on my face well. The straps were quite soft and I'm really impressed with the nose bridge design. Solid 4 stars for me.
