Advantages: Non-slip feet (do not slip in the shower). Raise your legs above the shower floor. The size and spacing of the slats keep your feet comfortable without slipping on the bamboo surface. Cons: The support bar that runs along the bottom cracked and split after the second use. So now one end is sagging under the weight. Eventually it will collapse completely. Even though it should dry slightly it has already started to build up black mold on the end caps, I had to treat it with bleach to kill the mold. Now I have to take it out of the shower after use to let it dry. Uncomfortable. Verdict: While the price is reasonable (compared to much more expensive bamboo shower mats), I can't really rate the build quality. I still use it every day but if at some point it totally cracks and breaks I won't be buying this particular block again. I'll find something similar but better constructed.
