Review on 🪵 Walnut Posh Pollen Darden Mid-Century Modern Side Table: An Exquisite Addition to Your Space! by Dawn Sherman

The product name on the Revain page for this and the coffee table says 'walnut'. This is NOT walnut - it's not tree either - it's oak and another veneer with a completely different texture - on MDF, walnut stained. This means that the wood has a lot of fibers (walnut is a completely different matter). And that this is not such a durable table, since MDF does not hold joints and screws under loads. Also, in the main photo (and other seller pages) the finish looks medium and matte like untreated wood, while various reviews say it is glossy and dark brown. Disappointing because it's a good take by Dexter. Any other less grainy wood would be ideal. And real wood for this price. It doesn't contain much wood, so it must be some sort of real wood, or at least veneer over plywood, not MDF. I'll update this when mine arrives but I'm prepared to be disappointed. I would restore it, but I can't do it on the basis of MDF. (Note that there is a blackened edge visible around the edges and the front frame texture does not match the wood texture and direction on flat surfaces - a surefire way to spot engineered products.) Please do not stand or sit on it as one. The reviewer suggests that it will most likely break the top. Thick product does not mean durable.
