Great keyboard case with two annoying issues

Presentation: I was looking for a thin but sturdy keyboard case to fit my new 2019 iPad Air. The goal was to use it as a laptop for note taking and general work (email, web browsing, etc.) to protect the thinner plastic. Everyone said it was very good retail packaging. That would be a suitable gift. Fit: There's a lot to like about this case. Overall it's *slightly* thicker than I'd like, a thinner body with a single wide hinge (which helps with stability) that I couldn't find on the Revain. It's designed to fit multiple iPad models, so some of the cutouts are slightly off-center, but it doesn't cover up anything on the iPad as a result. In general, the body is solid, beautiful. In terms of functionality, it works well. Key travel on the keyboard is satisfactory (especially considering the overall thin case). It's *much* better than the 2016-2018 Apple laptop keyboards. It has a backlight with customizable colors so that's fun too. I've also been using it almost daily for the past two months (though not for more than an hour or so) and haven't had to charge it yet. Pros: Good looking, durable case that has protected my iPad from multiple falls so far. without any adverse effects on the case or the device. The Bad: One of the main issues with the functionality of this keyboard case is the waking response. As soon as you turn on the keyboard, it wakes up each key from sleep mode. This means I can just press the keyboard anywhere to wake it up, but... it takes a while (3-5 seconds) for the bluetooth connection to re-establish. All keystrokes will be lost during this time. So I open my iPad and start typing but it will lose the first 3-8 words I type due to slow reconnection. The last case I had (for an older, smaller iPad model) had a buffer that saved keystrokes while connected, so whatever I typed appeared immediately after reconnecting. Ugliness: price. Whoa, boy, the price! I paid less than $60 for this keyboard case. Even that was a bit pricey (I was hoping for around $40 for another brand). But at the time of writing this review, it's listed (from the same seller) for almost $90! It's *too* much for what you get. Verdict: This is a nice looking keyboard with a small but acceptable Bluetooth reconnection issue. However, for $90 I would *not* make this purchase again.
