I've had the Surefire Fury for almost four years. After seeing and reading many reviews on Streamlight's new offerings, especially HL-X, I decided to give it a try. I can only say wow. For the money, this Streamlight outperforms the Surefire. Sorry Surefire fans. But at this price point, a thousand lumens and Streamlight customer service. they have recruited him for the time being. This sucker is light, very well built and has decent battery life. I've added a Thyrm Switchback and Streamlight rechargeable battery and couldn't be happier with the performance. My only criticism is the programming options through TEN-TAP. In general, I want ALL the lumens. All 1000 please. So the first touch must be HIGH. But the flash is useless to me. I want to be able to toggle the lights high-medium-low instead of high-strobe-low. I understand that there is an option Low - Medium - High. but it doesn't work for me. All the lumens, remember?
