I wanted the cheapest decent speaker I could find and I have a small vintage computer desk so the property is in high demand. I have a Dell monitor that has clips on the bottom specifically for this speaker - unfortunately my monitor did not have a power connector for this speaker. However, I found a seller on Amazon who sells a speaker with power supply for $10 with shipping, and at that price I feel like I set out to get a good speaker for very little money. Since it attaches to the bottom of the monitor, I don't waste desk space either. It's a used speaker, of course, but it came from a Dell recycler and I'm pretty sure it came from the office and has seen very little to no abuse. The sound is great for my needs of watching YouTube videos and listening to Spotify while I work. I would say that the sound is actually very good when sitting at a table and listening to something. I wouldn't try to hear it from across the room though - it does an excellent job and does exactly what it was designed to do. The speaker will make no difference in quality. I've seen prices go up to $30 and I wouldn't say that much since you can get better quality desktop speakers for less.
