An excellent option for tall and slender girls, but not very small. Both of my girls are slim and fit perfectly at the waist and hit just above the knee. And the waist is very elastic, so they are comfortable. For reference my 8 year old is 53 and 51lbs and I bought her a small and she was a little big in the waist but the length was good. My 6 year old is 49 and 45 pounds and the XS fits her perfectly!
