This is not my holy grail hair mask but still very good. It left my hair more hydrated and smoother than if I neglected the weekly mask for a while. The softness will be different than what you are used to when you normally use products with silicones (dimethicone, cyclopentasiloxane, etc.). Unlike products that stay on the surface, you'll feel truly moisturized strands. This isn't a slam on silicone products, they *should* just sit on the surface. Which is "better" depends on your hair needs. The smell is just fantastic. While I love the typical artificial scents of coconut, rose, and the like that you find in most conditioners, they allow this product's natural scent to shine through. It is a subtle, almost spicy fragrance. It won't become a regular part of my hair regimen, but it has allowed me to keep using it to the end and it's impressive enough that I've kept searching for my favorite hair mask from this brand.
