This is a great option for new build or refurbishment. They work without a bulb, so they can save a significant amount of dollars over traditional recessed lighting. The junction boxes are equipped with quick-disconnect connectors that work with 14 or 12 GA wire, making wiring easier and faster. I installed 8 of the 6 inch 4000K lights in a small kitchen remodel and they look great. Very bright and friendly in the room with a total power consumption of <100W. I would recommend using the warmer 3000K for the living room, dining room or bedroom. I wouldn't recommend the 5000K unless you have a specific commercial cold light application. The only thing I would warn about is that the power supply for the light is in the junction box, so be sure to mount it so that the box is accessible for maintenance/replacement if necessary.
