Disclaimer: I paid the full $9.99 for a 10oz bottle and 3 dry balls and I would have paid double for how well it worked. Boy Scout days that endured many hikes and hikes unwashed and incorrectly stowed in a compression bag. He was dirty and lint free (he was on the brink of death). I also have a nice $200 Mountain Hardwear coat that I just patched a burn hole in. Also 4-5 years old and it's starting to get gross. I had read horror stories about laundry damage and was about to give up on both. I read about this cleaning product and it was relatively cheap compared to a new sleeping bag or coat. Washing: I literally followed the instructions. Don't bother reading millions of articles on the internet telling you different things. In fact, I've washed both in my laundry at the same time in a large commercial washing machine in the cold (only used 3 capfuls of liquid). Time was short and I've only tossed things with dryer balls in the dryer on low heat for 30 minutes and then hung them up at home. They looked normal but there were numerous lumps. I was worried. Crossing the finish line: Later at home I threw the coat in the ball dryer myself for about 2 hours. The same with the bag. The results were CRAZY. The package didn't lie. My coat looked brand new and had more volume (puffiness) than ever! The sleeping bag looks like new (the tag is still brown from the time). I've really hung it up since then and can't wait to hike with it in Nebraska next month. How much can you wash with it? I washed the whole, albeit smaller, sleeping bag and a huge down jacket again. I STILL had enough to wash Eddie Bauer's big mummy sleeping bag from my early Boy Scout days, and STILL maybe enough for two coats. Don't throw away old moldy, smelly, flat coats or sleeping bags. Try this product. All you have to do is dry (at low temperature) much longer than you think and you will be surprised :) I will definitely trust this product in about 4 years when my favorite Patagonia Nano Puff jacket needs a face lift .
