Review on Portable ASUS XG17AHP with Adaptive Sync, Micro HDMI, 17.3-inch Display, 1920X1080P, 240Hz Refresh Rate, Flicker-Free, Eye Care and HD Quality by Raul Chapman

I bought this monitor because it received the highest rating from PC-Mag and I liked the features it offered. But if someone told me that I had to press 3 different buttons IN THE RIGHT ORDER just to turn it off, I would never buy it. I never thought that a monitor's user interface could be so complex. The power button should just turn it on and off, right? Not on this. The power button is built in as a control, and on top of that there's a power LED that stays lit even when the device isn't powered on, so I've spent a lot of time trying to figure out why I'm not getting a drawing. I can't seem to just increase/decrease the volume with the left/right buttons, but first I have to open the menu to get to the volume setting. And then he illogically uses the left button to increase the volume and the right button to decrease it. One of the reasons I bought this model was the built in stand with tripod mount. My kit had a small plug for the button on the hole in the tripod mount, but it doesn't stay in place. It's just too small for the hole so there's nothing to hold it in place. A lot of great things happen here. I can't complain about the picture quality and the bag that came with it is very good. I would really like a rotation function, since iOS devices simply refuse to align the image correctly. Don't expect much from the built-in speaker. At 100% volume it was very quiet. I've also found that it charges via USB-C, but this doesn't seem applicable while in use. The battery went from 100% to 20% in about 90 minutes when connected to the NUC's Thunderbolt 3 port. Finally, Asus has a firmware update available that should allow it to wake up when the connected device wakes up (currently you have to turn it back on manually), but the instructions that come with it are hard to understand and I'm afraid to try. Do the operation now. Update the above after some use: I see a lot of user complaints about the power supply. Don't want to charge while in use. It just drains until you get a power alert, even with both HDMI and USB power connected. I was expecting around 10 hours of battery life but plugged it in after a few hours. And needing a 3 button just to turn it off REALLY REALLY gets on my nerves. Why not just press and hold to turn off? No firmware updates for 9 months, so ASUS just doesn't care to support this thing? I found the battery holds a charge well while sleeping and wakes up automatically when I plug in the device. I still have some regrets about how much I spent on it compared to sub-$200 monitors.
