First of all, I love buying new things instead of getting someone else's refund. The mount was embossed with tool marks where it had been adjusted to something and then removed and returned. I understand why it was returned. After going out and buying black paint and painting over deep tool scratches, I saw the problem. If you put the mirror on the base, it will fall under its own weight. One of the ball sockets is so lost that the mirror only dangles. It may work well in space, but I live where there is gravity. I'm not going back to the next person waiting for quality. And the mirror is also the mirror of the boat watching the skiers, it's highly parabolic. Terrible for just wanting to see what's behind you. It goes in the trash.
