The texture of this toner is like a high quality moisturizer. Smells like tea. But it doesn't work as well as a cheap moisturizer when moisturizing. I have never used a foundation before. I assume it is used before a conventional moisturizer? A quick web search "explains" what the toner does. It "gently refreshes your skin," "preps your skin to absorb moisturizer," "nourishes your skin," "improves skin's surface," and "leaves skin fresher, smoother, and more hydrated ". use, you don't feel like you've used anything. Maybe I'm missing something. HIMistry is a great moisturizer (hyaluron serum) but I think this toner (and all tonics) is useless
