Like many other customers, I wanted to save some money by buying a cheap compatible toner cartridge for my Brother HL 2240 printer, so I bought this cartridge for $11. Who wants to spend $30-$40 to buy a new Brother cartridge which is 1/2 the cost of the printer itself (you might as well buy a new printer). Anyway, I shook the cartridge and put it in the drum. and insert the drum into the printer. The printer went through the startup process and then immediately the amber TONER light came on and the printer didn't even print a page. I opened the access door, took out the drum/cartridge, shook it again and put it back into the printer. I got the same error message after repeating this process 10 TIMES. Unlike other laser printers that only print light characters when the toner is low, my Brother HL 2240 printer does NOT print at all when the amber toner light is on. .
