Blows loud on my review.
Blows loud enough - I have a different (traditional shape orange marine) whistle that is louder and a bit better, so 3 stars (maybe four). Nice for a two pack. Definitely you should have a whistle when you kayak for emergencies.

- Although the whistles come with a lanyard and clip which should make them easy to carry, their plastic construction may not hold up well over time. If the whistles become damaged or broken, they may not be effective in an emergency situation
