My daughter and I swim in a chlorine pool together. The pH in the pool is well balanced so none of us will have green hair, so I can't comment on its effectiveness. But even after rinsing off, we both still smell like bleach from the bath. This shampoo and shower gel gently relieves odor and the associated feeling of dryness. I can use it to wash my face after swimming and go home without moisturizer. It also helps keep my daughter's hair from turning into crusty straw. We also use it on the boat and it foams up in the salt water. What he's not so good at: I have long, thick hair. Doesn't lather like normal shampoo. Doesn't clean hair squeaky like regular shampoo. It also doesn't dry out my hair, doesn't irritate my scalp and requires a lot of conditioner like a regular shampoo. This allows me a quick post-bath fix so my hair lasts longer between deep washes and conditions. If you're a kid or someone with finer hair, this is awesome!
