I'm not sure what it is , but some jeans have this rough interior that is scratchy on your legs. I use great moisturizer so it's not dry skin (cetaphil). The look is cute and the fit is great. I'm 5'7 but a 32 inseam is usually right at the floor or slightly above for me. these were a little short if you don't want that webbing in the crotch area. Nice stretch to them and pretty good color for black as it usually has that faded grey look. I didn't select distressed so they are nicely hemmed. I'm keeping them since I can wear them with boots and they don't look overtly short. But another inch in length would have really elongated my legs.
