Doesn't look like tempered glass but is really hard to see without trying to break it. It feels like plastic. The texture feels rough, not like rough paper but more like rough sandpaper. The first instinct is that he will destroy the tip of the pencil. What worries me the most is that it affects the pencil in straight lines. Even when using a guide, a straight line is not straight, but wavy. Check out the attached picture to see what I mean. Some with a free hand and some with a straight edge. If you draw fast enough, the line connects fairly straight, but it just doesn't clip for detail. One thing I noticed in the video is the fact that you can hear how abrasive the tread is. until my replacement arrives in the mail.
