If you want live fish, don't use it.
It's bad for your fish! I have only used it for one night and one fish has died and my other fish are not behaving normally. They don't seem to see it because normally in the morning they would all go to the glass while waiting for food, but this time none came up and one just floated around in circles and a few of the others just got stuck on the ground.
