The weight of the scale is 100g, no need to buy a separate weight. There is an on-screen guide to leveling the scale and an on-screen guide to calibrating the scale. The grain measurement reads to within 0.01 grains and the readings appear to be stable and reproducible. However, the readings are temperature sensitive, which is to be expected.
