The coat is warm and comfortable. I live in the snowy Northwest but have yet to test it in sub-zero temperatures or wind, but it works in 32 degrees. The rugged look I was looking for and well made. I'm glad I went for the medium size as it runs a bit small. The outer layer of material is a thicker cotton but I don't think it's waterproof. Tight, well-sewn zipper with flap for extra protection. The closures on the front are well placed and can be tightened for a better view. The coat is heavy but not uncomfortable, looks durable. The coat was folded very tightly in a ziplock plastic bag and was very crumpled when I took it out. Dropped in a warm dryer which helped a little but may need steaming or smoothing out wrinkles. I'm very picky but happy with the quality and looks. I would definitely suggest an appreciation.
