December 2013 If you are interested in making bracelets this is a great inexpensive machine. Before this loom I bought another, more traditional loom with bobbins and screws and what a nightmare! That damn thing lasted longer than the bracelet. This loom is better because it is wide/long enough to make a full size bracelet on it without having to fold the project which is almost impossible. My only caution is that you absolutely must pull the last warp taut when tying it to the handle or your last warp will become slack. As for the metal rod, as someone mentioned lol, the pivot needs to be removed, before you start your project. UPDATE Feb 2014 I'm starting to have trouble keeping the tension from sagging in the first few rows. I can literally spend an hour threading and transporting the loom every time I start a project. This is starting to get annoying as there is no other way to solve this problem than rewinding the whole thing over and over again until you get the hang of it.
