When we decided to invest in security cameras, we knew that we didn't want to be a) tied to the cloud, b) didn't want to worry about wiring or plugging into an outlet, and c) We wanted to be able to keep it out of reach of anyone wanting to get their hands on where it's installed. This little Hiseu unit (which reminds me of the one-eyed Minion) seemed to fit the bill perfectly; and it received many great reviews, many interspersed with useful detailed details, which is a great selling point for me. For that reason (and at a reasonable price) we bought two - one for the front door and one for the backyard. They arrived quickly and in perfect condition. Everything in the box was easy to identify from the listing in the included instructions. Although the instructions are written in English, they are not clearly written; However, with the help of illustrations and the fact that this is a relatively easy setup process, only a little interpolation is required. This and the fact that the app (which we got and installed via Google Play and is free) accompanies you with audio and visual instructions, makes the installation very easy. Once the camera is activated and registered, you basically just have to install the camera somewhere. I would recommend a place out of reach of human hands not carrying ladders! If you decide on a location, I strongly recommend not using 3M's Anemic Adhesive Pads - the only downer in an otherwise excellent product. The overlays became our choice because we wanted to preserve the integrity of our vinyl siding from punctures which (we thought at the time) would have been necessary with the supplied alternative mounting bracket, albeit a safer method. Camera and software worked very well together for about half a day. The next morning I logged into the app and when the camera turned on I noticed on the live TV that it was looking directly at the porch and not from where I had set it the day before. Before I had time to make this observation, I heard a "knock" at the front door. The camera fell eight feet to the concrete below, a casualty of the underlay's lack of adhesion to the siding. Well after reading other reviews I was encouraged by others to contact Saul - a man to call if there is a problem. Through a quick email exchange, Saul was able to send us a replacement camera (which arrived very quickly) and we shipped the non-working camera to the warehouse address. It was so easy! Fantastic customer service! Thank you Saul! I've since installed a new camera on my front door using a screw mount, but I attached the mount to a Menards vinyl trim hook (model number: VSH56-24 Menards® SKU: 2850715) and then attached the hook to the trim - no holes. The particular hook I used is rated at 56 pounds so I feel confident holding 8 ounces on it. Camera. I didn't have enough time to install the backyard camera this weekend, but I plan to mount it the same way I did on the front door, using a vinyl trim hook, small mounting screws, some washers and nuts (to attach the bracket on the hook) - anything you can find at face value (just under $10) at Menards or Ace Hardware or any hardware store. I haven't explored all of the camera's capabilities yet, but it offers excellent video resolution in the phone app for viewing on your phone (which you can toggle between standard definition and high definition). Night vision is also very good, albeit in black and white, which is perfectly normal and to be expected. The intercom function is also excellent - very good sound, indicating a conversation between you and the person(s) outside. I am really looking forward to learning more about using these cameras. So far I only have 5 stars for the cameras and of course Saul's customer service! Highly recommended, quality home security device at a reasonable price! Update 9/5/19: Another camera activated and then installed in the backyard and it was even easier to do it once for the front door. The camera alerts me very well with the CloudEdge app; I was somewhat surprised when I received a notification that a backyard camera was recording human activity while I was at work this morning - it turned out to be a neighbor's lawn crew (probably 35 feet away). Actually I'm glad it happened so I know what to expect from the chosen activity spectrum. Still a five star experience with these cameras!
