Review on 🔦 Vintage Essex Cage Light Fixture: SYLVANIA Semi-Flush Mount with Dimmable LED Bulb Included (75515) by Brandi Davis

We have a bar in the basement and have had high hopes of replacing the lights in it since we bought the house. We wanted something simple with an industrial flair, but still provide great lighting for the space. Finally, we absolutely needed a 5 inch diameter ceiling tile as there is an air vent right next to the previously installed fixture. We searched Home Depot and Lowe's for months with minimal success and finally I came across this simple yet amazing looking light fixture. This light fixture had EVERYTHING we were looking for and was so reasonably priced compared to everything we had in each of ours Shops could find hardware/household goods stores. When I received it and inspected it for the first time I couldn't be more impressed with the quality. It's all solid metal, beautifully painted to match the industrial theme and with no visible blemishes. As an added bonus, it also comes with a free light bulb so you can start enjoying your new light with a matching vintage style light bulb! My husband was able to install this light relatively easily with minimal experience. At first we wanted our existing bracket use but then realized it doesn't allow for physically driving screws in (you had to insert screws and add nuts on the opposite side to hold them in place with the original mounting bracket where you physically insert them into the mounting plate when new could screw). Moral of the story, save yourself the time and hassle and just replace everything! It's easy to unscrew the old bracket and screw in the new one, saving you time and effort, so don't try to take shortcuts. My only recommendation when installing a bracket after installing the mounting bracket is to disassemble the wire cage. from the top of the world where the wires are. It's only 5 tiny screws and it's easy to screw in, but you can really put your hand and screwdriver where they need to be without having to carefully work inside the flashlight. Wiring was very easy: base to base, black to black, white to white, squeeze everything together and add your connectors and you're done! Make sure you test your flashlight after everything is wired correctly (before you reattach the metal cage) and if everything looks good, securely connected and secure then you can screw on the metal cage and enjoy your new light! Finally, I read that some people got a yellowish light, but I was very happy to get a bright white light that blended well with the rest of my "Daylight" LED bulbs. Pat yourself on the back for a job well done. and enjoy the new world! This is definitely one of my favorite DIY upgrades and purchases from Revain to date. I am very satisfied with this purchase and can only recommend it!
