Review on 👞 Northam Loafer Tobacco Leather Men's Shoes by CLARKS by Xiaomeng Chang

tl;dr: they came too tight, they weren't broken by inserting my legs, now it's very comfortable. The skin seems fine, the color is as expected. ------ I ordered a large size as it usually fits me better. When I first put them on, they were surprisingly uncomfortable! Extremely narrow base of toes / over the ball (or whatever you call it, toe over the ball). The back of the shoe was also rubbing heavily on the back of my heel/(slightly protruding) Achilles tendon. As one reviewer noted, the hem is very stiff around the quarter (where the foot enters the shoe), and within an hour of putting it on I was nearly blistered; and it's just wearing around the house - as much time sitting as walking. So I wore them at short intervals for several weeks with no real change. They were so painful I wouldn't clench my teeth to try and break them for the full 8+ hours of continuous wear. So I considered sending them back and trying them on (although the length was perfect). Frustrated, I stuffed my split cedar shoes into it and set them aside to deal with later. I don't use shoe polishers to stretch my shoes just to dry my hiking boots between walks, but a few days with shoe polishers and these shoes was a whole new experience. Very comfortable and easy to put on and take off (that stiff lip that doesn't crease really helps). Now that I've been able to wear them regularly throughout the day for two weeks; I can safely say that I really like these shoes. Some reviewers mentioned disappointment with color or graininess. I find the color to be a little lighter than I would have preferred but similar to what is pictured and pretty much what I would expect from something called "tobacco leather". The grain is approximately the same as in the photo (see photo). Would appreciate regular price...bought on sale = great price.
