First of all the delivery from this company was very fast and arrived before the expected date. Respect for them, especially since this isn't Prime. As for soap, it's just ok. For reference: I use a DE Muhle razor with spring blades. If price is your main concern, having a shaving brush will serve you well. If you apply it to your face without lathering it up with a brush, it will become too thick and accumulate a lot on the razor. With foam and brush it is very smooth but with a strange tingling sensation; not the pleasant feeling you get from menthol, but a very slight burn that lasts for the rest of the day. I have to admit that I have very sensitive skin, but I'm definitely not used to having my face irritated all day long. That doesn't mean I had a burning sensation from a razor, but it was. The smell is pleasant, but it just smells like regular soap. It's unfortunate, as other reviewers point out, because one of the luxuries of DE wet shaving is really nice scents that add to the experience. It will not give you this addon. However, I can see that it's good for travel considering it's a hard cream (it's definitely not a hard soap). The bottom line is: I understand why people like it, the smell doesn't bother me, it provides a good shave with a smooth feel afterwards (probably due to animal fat), but due to the slight burn and simplicity of it, I'd rather have one spend a few dollars more on Proraso White or even a few dollars more on a DR Harris product. Update 3/21/15: I've forced myself to use this soap again and the more I use it the more I like it. As I said above the smell is average but once you learn how to use this soap offers you one of the best shaving products available. Here are some tips: Apply on a wet face against the fibers. You will begin to see very little white accumulation. Stop. If you continue you will use ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow and it will accumulate as above. Now, take a stiff brush (I prefer boar hair over badger hair for this) and apply liberally to face. You will notice a good buildup on your hand and face. Now go about with your normal shaving routine, using the lather on your brush if necessary. Your face will become smooth and soft like a baby's. I haven't had any burning issues since then, so it may be the blade. I do not know. I still only give it 4 stars because it just smells like conventional soap. If I could bet 4 and 3/4, I would.
