Can Extend Waist an Inch, but Two is a Stretch

I have an apple shape to my torso. My hips are small, but my waist.a little pudgy. Needless to say, I was happy to try out these waistband extenders. This set of six comes in white, royal blue, and black (two of each color). These extenders are made totally of elastic. They are each 3 1/4" long and 15/16" wide. Each extender has one button (5/8" in diameter) sewn on it and three button holes that are 1/2" wide each.I guess how effective these are will depend on your individual situation. I was able to use one of these extenders on the pair of pants shown in the photo above. I hooked the button on the extender to a buttonhole on my pants. I hooked the buttonhole end of the extender to the button on my pants. It gave me an extra inch. When I tried to buy myself more room by hooking my pants button to a looser buttonhole on the extender, it did not work as well. It hooked fine, but the zipper to my pants kept opening up then. That pair of pants actually had a double row of buttons, so I tried a couple different pair of pants. They both did that. I think the zipper has to stay somewhat in line with the buttons so that it can stay closed. You could also put a pin under the zipper so that it would not slide down. The other thing I tried was doubling the extender over as shown in my photo. I put my pant button through two buttonholes. That way I did not have a long piece of extender showing. No matter what you do, the extender is going to show, so if you use one, you will have to wear a top that covers the waistband. That's fine with me.The extender is definitely a help and is somewhat of a solution, but it is not perfect. I usually wear my tops on the outside of my waistband anyway, so it is not much of a problem for me. If you like to wear your tops tucked in, then this is not going to be the solution that you are looking for.I would absolutely recommend a waistband extender to anyone who needs an inch or so more in the waistband. I find this product helpful and am glad that I have it. I wish it came in more neutral colors. I am giving this product four stars. It may not be perfect, but it is good enough and does what it says it will do. Worth checking out.
