Worked well but the back cover is very prone to scratches

First of all I have to say this case has worked great for me while diving underwater. The case easily fits both iPhone 8+ and iPhone 11. The app is actually very well designed and allows you to do everything except turn the phone on and off. My biggest problem and the reason it only gets 3 stars is that the back is very easy to scratch. I've reviewed many underwater cameras and you can spend $50-$300 or more depending on how serious you are and at that price point I think there should either be some extra rear protection or a better way to transport everything you need to work with the case. Below I will go into detail about each element. ----- INSTALLING THE PHONE ----- This case uses a simple cam lock to seal the phone in the case. A little spongy sticky pad holds the phone in place (you don't have to be perfect, the app automatically adjusts everything based on the phone's position) and the only tool you need is a pump to get all the air out of the inside to pump. a business. The instructions state that if you don't have a pump, you can suck air out of your mouth. I've tried and failed to get close to the pressure you get with a pump. My iPhone 8+ is the size of a phone that fits in a case. So if your phone is bigger, it may not work ----- CASE ----- The case has a solid feel and a bulge, like an SLR. This edge may be too large to be comfortable for those with small hands. I have big hands (I wear big gloves with gloves) and the grip still feels a little thick to me. The case also requires 2 AAA batteries for the pressure sensor and the LEDs to alert you when the case loses pressure. The LED will stay blue when the pressure is safe, when you start to release pressure the LEDs will start flashing RED-BLUE to warn you and when there is not enough vacuum the LED will stay RED. During my trip, he would often start blinking and then stop. All this time the pressure readings on the phone screen usually stayed the same, so I don't know what the discrepancy is. Throughout my voyage I did not notice water entering the hull. ----- APP ----- The app works surprisingly well. Since you can't use the power button, the app keeps the phone on and puts the screen to sleep when there's no activity for a period of time. I followed the instructions and was able to control all 4 physical buttons that translate all the functions you need while the phone is in the case. I really liked that the app has separate buttons for taking photos and videos, so you can easily switch between them without messing around with the menu. ----- THE BAD ----- My suitcase got scratched while unpacking this from my bag. I packed the case and pump in the mesh bag provided and had nothing around it other than clothes so it must have come from contact with the pump. I was annoyed that the back was scratched by the included pump (which you really need) and packed everything in the included mesh bag. I contacted the manufacturer upon my return and their solution was that I should pack it differently. I believe if that's the case they should offer a better way to pack everything while protecting the case, use a stronger material, or offer some sort of screen protector that can be replaced. The next issue to be aware of. is that the phone can easily overheat inside. As we cruised back and forth between dive sites, the iPhone reached an unsafe operating temperature and shut down. Out of the water, constantly working with the system and outside the phone in the sealed case was too hot. I had to take the phone out and cool it down before I could restart the phone and put it back in the case to get it ready for the next dive. It was a little annoying, but it's something you can plan for once you know it's an issue. Since the phone has to be on all the time, it also eats up your work time, so make sure you start your day with a fully charged battery. Since I couldn't estimate how long we would be in the water and how much battery would be consumed in standby mode, I was willing to use another phone if my phone ran out of power. ------ CONCLUSION-- --- While I liked this case and am really very impressed with the app and how well it works, it does have its downside, so you'll have to judge for yourself if the PROs outweigh the Benefits of CON. If it weren't for the problem that the back of the case scratches so easily, this would easily be a 5 star rating. Due to the issue I encountered with my initial release and the response and support I received from the manufacturer, I'm pretty neutral about this product. I'm close to even giving it 4 stars but I'm a little confused by the responses I've received from the manufacturer and to me customer service and after-sales service are almost as important as the product itself. With so many other options there may be better options in this price range hence the 3 stars.
