Background ========== As far as my situation is concerned, I have several poorly performing USB mice where the USB receiver is controlled more by software than hardware is and can be disabled by Ghost's USB Selective Suspend. Therefore, with some occasional reboots/power outages etc, it may take a long time for the mouse to be recognized. It's more reliable when connected to a hub, and claims to be even better when the hub is powered by its own power supply. But the waiting and waiting can be a bit annoying, and even the sneaky hub/port reset with the "devcon restart" command doesn't work. One way to speed things up is to remove/reinsert the USB receiver, and the in/out USB cable should (in theory) do the same without having to unplug the device. I'm guessing it'll take a few days, a few reboots, and a bit of luck to see if that "on/off" switch is actually the SAME as "remove device" for that particular USB mouse receiver . The time will show. And a given system can adapt well (like Borg) and find new ways not to work. 40 inches long. - The longer part of the cable is about 33 inches long. - The short part (next to the switch) is about 5 inches long. - The "switch" portion is approximately 2 1/4"L x 6/8"W x 7/8"H (including the rocker switch).
