This works great with a bare phone attached to it, but doesn't work well through a non-MagSafe case. I had a Spigen thin case on my iPhone 12 Pro and it didn't work. I ended up buying a new slim MagSafe Spigen case with a metal ring built in, and it works great with that. I use it in the car and the phone didn't fall out of the holder at all.
