Like most families (I think) we use scissors maybe a couple of times a month, with breaks when gifts are being wrapped. Unlike most families, mine regularly loses its scissors. We now have a pair on the fridge, two pairs in the junk drawer, two in our gift wrap holder and a few extras tucked away with our tools ready to replace whatever is gone. They are surprisingly cheap in the amount we needed. They do their job cutting wrapping paper, tape and sometimes blister packs. Haven't broken a pair yet. I lost 2 pairs and I still have a few more. He probably saved my marriage and my daughter's life. Not bad for a cheap wholesale pack of scissors.
