Long story. I connected this pump to a hydraulic accumulator in my warehouse. But it's not that easy. The pump is in a narrow pit to keep it below freezing. Unfortunately the pit fills up with water so I put a sump pump in there to keep the water level down. Once when I was away the electricity went out and the pit filled with water. I later arrived at camp and found the overturned pump and tank in the pit from overturning during the flood. I turned everything off, everything found its place and dried the pressure switch. I plugged it back in and hoped for the best. Miraculously the pump worked. Let's fast-forward about a year. In winter the electricity went out again. The pump flipped over again and floated up (I didn't get a chance to attach it below), only this time the water pushed the pump above the frost line where it froze in the ice. In fact, the water in the pump froze and expanded to the point where it split the pump housing in half. When I got there in the spring, I saw what had happened but didn't realize that the pump had split in half. I put the pump and tank, which were already very old, the right way round and plugged them into the socket. The pump just hummed, so I turned it off. I had to remove the fan cover, spray with a PB blaster and work on the shaft with pliers to loosen it. After freeing the shaft I plugged it in and it started pumping up the tank but it was very noisy because the bearings were rusty. That's when I noticed that water was leaking from the pump housing. I unplugged and went into the pit to check and noticed that the pump housing was split in two with a gap of about 3/8 inch on one side. Then I plugged it back in while the pump kept screaming in pain.
