Not sure. I use this device to use my iPad Pro as a mobile voice over rig. Signal chain: Sennheiser 416 - XLR, Focusrite - Lightning cable with USB adapter, Hyperdrive - iPad Pro. The hyperdrive was powered directly from the wall outlet. Worked fantastic at first, but 45 seconds after the mic warmed up, it started to have stable static and interference. I can't say for sure which component or cable is causing it, but would assume it is NOT a professional recording device or an Apple product. The cables are also of good quality. I love HyperDrive but I think it's his fault.
