I needed another CFexpress card for my Canon EOS 1D X Mark III as I would like to have 4 available (2 in camera and 2 backup/spare). Although I've seen the Delkin name, I've never used it. After researching information about the company and its products, I took a chance and ordered it. VERY glad I did! Spring. at first i was a little put off. The description for this card shows READ SPEED as 1730 MB/s and WRITE SPEED as 1540 MB/s, which is very fast. However, the card I received (see photo) shows READ as 1600 MB/s and WRITE as 600 MB/s. . While 1600 MB/s alone isn't a deal killer, 600 MB/s is. My Canon 1D X Mark III requires a card with VERY fast write speeds and 600 would have killed the deal. Somewhat disappointed, I called DELKIN and spoke to a live person here in the US almost immediately. I don't remember his name, but he worked in Technical Services and was very helpful. He explained that the cards were actually 1730/1540 but the labels were ordered with a speed error but still reached customers. Big. Then for my next photo job I wrote twice on my 2 cards as a guarantee in case there were any problems with the Delkin (I would recommend this to anyone using a brand new card or on a new platform). The card worked perfectly. on my next order, Convinced of the card and its capabilities, I wrote a card and the card was bulletproof again. As for speed? Well, I did several bursts of 35-50 frames with ZERO buffering (at 16 fps - frames per second). This would choke the card at 600MB/s. Then I went full throttle and took a series of 100 frames in live view at 20 fps and again with ZERO buffer. BTW I ONLY shoot in RAW and each RAW file is about 20MB so 20fps would be stifling on a 600MB card. after 3-5 seconds and kill the buffer. I have never been throttled and my buffer has never dropped below 99. 99 is the default buffer number for this camera, but the "real number" is closer to 1000 frames. All that needs to be said is, that this is an exceptional element of the set. Well done. Reliable. Accessible.
