This is my first Otter and it doesn't offer the same protection as my previous ballistic cases. The phone itself is part of the problem as the screen curves over the edge. This prevents the sides of the case from rising above the screen and making it vulnerable. The top and bottom of the case are lifted off the screen and I was hoping this would protect it, but my screen has a few scratches from falls. (Because women's clothing doesn't have smartphone pockets, mine keeps falling off, but that's another tirade.) Still, it didn't break, which I think is a win.
