Quality is top notch, happy with everything.

I have been in the Apple ecosystem for a long time, I use it for development and photography, I don’t play games. I thought for a long time between the MacBook Pro 16 and iMac 27 (before that there were MacBook Pro 13/15). As a result, I decided to take the iMac 27 and have no regrets at all. There is no need for a second monitor, 27 "is more than enough to display several programs in parallel. Unlike the MacBook Pro, in this model you can ate the RAM yourself and the processor works at full capacity. I loaded the computer in full (IDE from JetBrains, Docker, virtual machine, messengers, Google Chrome with 30 tabs, Word, Excel) in general, everything that is necessary for work and not a single frieze, could not load the percentage by more than 25%, on average it was loaded by 15% (a huge power reserve). the memory is still not enough and it climbs after it into the swap, which copes well with its task due to the NVMe drive. All the same, you can feel the desktop processor versus the mobile one. The MacBook Pro with these tasks began to get very hot, make noise and friezes appear. Oh Gods, yes - it doesn't make any noise at all compared to the MacBook Pro. But I decided to buy 32GB of RAM to forget about the swap, and this model has a nuance. The slots must be with a latency of 19 (CL19) 2666 MHz. I bought a similar factory SODIMM DDR4 16GB Hynix original PC4-21300 2666MHz CL19 heatsink 1.2V. There is a nuance in installing the memory, in this model there are paired slots, so the native one must be placed in the first two slots (from top to bottom), and the new one in the bottom two, if you put a different memory model in one paired slot, the frequency will be cut to 2133 MHz. I bought an average model in M. Video (i5 3.3 GHz, 512 SSD). There are a lot of photos and videos of the iMac itself on the Internet, so I am attaching a photo of the packaging upon delivery.

Pros
  • 10th generation processor, fast NVMe drive, Radeon Pro 5300, perfect screen size and quality out of the box, SD card reader, 3.5mm jack and USB 3.0 ports, expandable RAM up to 128GB, not bad sound from the built-in speakers.
Cons
  • I would like 4 USB Type-C and 2 USB 3.0, and not vice versa. In 2022, it would be possible to install 16GB of RAM already.
