(Fixed) Some recommend removing all floor panels for installation. Lots of plastic sheets and screws on my '94 Toyota truck. Depending on your car or truck model, you can try the following instead: 1) Locate and remove the cigarette lighter fuse. 2) Remove the ashtray. 3) Loosen the 2 Phillips head screws on the ashtray guide and pull the guide out, do not pull down. 4) There is a small hole. Shine in and you will see the end of the lighter's electrical clip. push away. Remember the location of the lighter's electrical contacts! 5) Rotate the lighter counterclockwise about 20 degrees and partially pull out the lighter. The lighter has an invisible metal tab. 6) Continue turning the lighter counter-clockwise until the metal tab aligns with the slot in the Bakelite barrel and push the lighter out. 7) Install the new lighter in reverse order, rotate clockwise to the original position. Reinstall the electrical clip, ashtray guide, ashtray and fuse. I burned my old one and used it as a power supply. I might light a second lighter for future use. Hope that helps!
