I have several lav mics to choose from in all price ranges and input types, but for the most part this is my go-to mic for voiceovers and interviews. Most of my video work is for my YouTube channels and it's easy to use, has low self-noise (floor noise) and is less sensitive to motion than some other lav mics. ALL lav mics pick up motion and especially wire contact, but this one has fewer problems than most. It's so cheap that if it gets damaged in any way it doesn't matter - buy another one! The included TRRS to TRS adapter is absolutely essential for my use as I usually use it with TRS devices like the Zoom Hn1 or directly with a Canon camcorder that has a 3.5mm input. It's also nice to be able to use it with standard TRRS for smartphones and computers. Very versatile and inexpensive. Keep in mind that the noise level isn't as high as battery or phantom powered lavas, but it's usually fine for my purposes. If you have gear with crappy (loud) preamps, you may need an active mic. Not sure why the review is asking for a noise canceling rating - this is not a noise canceling mic!
