Pretty weak in car accessories

The device is light, made of good materials, can hold a large phone. The included rubber pads are useless as they fall off while driving, not to mention your phone case will protect your phone from rubbing against the stand and will probably hold up better than the pads anyway. During installation, you may need to disassemble the ball joint setscrews to secure the inner ball in the joint and tighten the locknut. The main disadvantage is the ball joint! It has no locking teeth or texture to attach it to the case once tightened, so 5 miles on a rough road will cause the connection to loosen and the phone to tip. again and again. During the ride my hands got wet and I couldn't turn the locknut any further because it was already tight enough and I just couldn't grip it tight enough to turn it. I've tried applying blue locktite to the threads of all the bolts AND the ball joint itself and using a tool to tighten the joint to no avail. He was still loosening and tilting the phone while driving. Constantly fiddling with the reset clip is more than annoying. So, today I super glued the ball joint (pictured). I don't care that it's forever. It stays where I have it and I can focus on driving safely. If you're thinking about hiring a mechanic to do all those tedious jobs, this phone stand isn't for you.
