Review on Sewing Machine WENICE Lighting Neutral by Barbara Simmons

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Before and after photos for $11. engineering marvel.

I just bought a new Juki TL 18-QVP Haruka. It is very similar to the Juki TL2010. Presumably the 18QVP has better lighting. I'll let you decide. Given the low cost, simplicity, and performance of LEDs, I think sewing machine manufacturers are acting like little teenagers these days. What is it's name. IDLENESS? With the advent of LED lighting, low lighting here is just a prime example of lazy tech. So let's fix this. This solution cost about $11 at the time of purchase. I had to cut off a few LEDs (at the first copper break) so that overall I can use most of the length that came with the box. In any case. Installation wasn't too difficult. If this confuses you a bit, there is a handy video by Madam Sew that shows how to install a very similar (but smaller) product. One thing I didn't do was install all the cable clips. I only installed one - enough to get the cord out of the way and away from the sewing bed. Advantages: - Low cost - High performance. Serious. Cons: - If you bring your car in for service, you may need to replace the strip. My car is mechanical and doesn't require much annual maintenance, so that's an advantage. If I'm doing this on a computerized sewing machine, I could go the other way. I might mount this with velcro instead so I can take it off during service.

Pros
  • Stitching
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
