The sound of the subwoofer is exaggerated. A wired connection means that each speaker is connected to a subwoofer. These cables are 4 to 6 feet long depending on placement and do not allow for surround sound. It should be next to the TV. All speakers are on my TV stand and connected to the network. In addition, the system does not switch, so you can hear the sound from the TV.
