Material - nice sweater fabric. Doesn't itch. The color is definitely wine. I'm 5'4 170 lbs. I bought a big one. I think maybe I could do the medium because it fits loosely around my stomach and I want it to fit my calf/knee area. Overall I am satisfied with my purchase.
